MIXOMAS AURICULARES EN PACIENTE CON SÍNDROME DE CARNEY

Resumen

Se presenta el caso de una niña de 14 años  de edad atendida en el Cardiocentro Pediátrico William Soler por astenia. En los complementarios  presentó anemia y eritrosedimentación acelerada. La ecocardigorafía transtorácica bidimensional mostró dos tumores, uno en aurícula derecha y el segundo en la  aurícula izquierda. Se realiza extirpación por vía auricular derecha y transeptal  con el uso de máquina de extracorpórea. El estudio histopatológico demostró que ambas tumoraciones eran mixomas. La paciente presentó otras tumoraciones en piel, canal auditivo externo cuyas biopsias reportaron mixomas. Fue diagnósticada como síndrome de Carney. A los 5 años recidiva el mixoma en la aurícula derecha extirpándose.  Once años después de la primera operación y seis  de la segunda  se encuentra asintomática y libre de tumoraciones.

Show a 14-year-old female patient treated at the William Soler Pediatric Cardiology Centre by fatigue. In complementary, she presented anemia and elevated ESR. Two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography showed two tumors, one in the right atrium and the second in the left atrium. Removal is performed by right atrial transseptal approach using lung machine. Histopathological study showed that both tumors were myxomas. The patient had other tumors in skin, in external ear canal who were reported, as myxoma by biopsies performed. She was diagnosed as Carney syndrome.Five years later, recurrence myxoma in the right atrium that was removed. Eleven years after the first operation and six of the second, she is asymptomatic and free of tumors.
