Abstract

Physiological correction with dextrotransposition of the great arteries guarantees patient survival, but increases long-term cardiovascular risk. We present a series of three cases showing the evolution of pregnant women with dextrotransposition of the great arteries who underwent physiological surgical correction in infancy. The prognosis of this disease during pregnancy is determined, fundamentally, by the functional class, the compromise of right ventricular function, the state of the systemic atrioventricular valve and the patency of the atrial channels. When there is severe right ventricular dysfunction, pregnancy is contraindicated. The multidisciplinary management of the pregnant women allowed good maternal and perinatal outcomes.
