Abstract

Mitral stenosis is considered the valvular disease with the greatest hemodynamic repercussions during pregnancy.  We present the case of a 26-year-old pregnant woman with a history of mild mitral regurgitation secondary to mitral valve prolapse, who was diagnosed with double mitral lesion with progressive stenosis and mild regurgitation of congenital origin due to hypoplastic mitral annulus and intramitral membrane during pregnancy. Complementary studies such as electrocardiogram and echocardiogram were performed, which was the imaging technique that concluded the diagnosis. Pregnancy passed without significant complications; treatment with propranolol was maintained. Multidisciplinary management of the pregnant woman was performed and the pregnancy was carried to term. The planned route of delivery was cesarean section; the maternal-fetal outcome was satisfactory.
