Rehabilitación cardÃaca en pacientes con cáncer

Introducción: La rehabilitación cardÃaca en pacientes con cáncer es un nuevo concepto, constituido por un esquema de ejercicios, cuyo objetivo es reducir el riesgo cardiovascular y mejorar la condición cardiopulmonar en pacientes y sobrevivientes de cáncer.
Objetivo: Caracterizar la rehabilitación cardÃaca y sus beneficios en pacientes con cáncer.
MetodologÃa: Se realizó una revisión documental de la literatura, a través de la búsqueda en Google Scholar, Science Direct, PubMed, SciELO y Redalyc con los tÃtulos rehabilitación cardÃaca en pacientes con cáncer, rehabilitación cardio-oncológica, beneficios de la rehabilitación cardÃaca en pacientes con cáncer, cardiotoxicidad y sus traducciones al inglés.
Resultados: A través del análisis de un total de 53 artÃculos se identificó que los ejercicios ligados a la rehabilitación cardÃaca tienen varios beneficios en los pacientes que reciben tratamiento contra el cáncer, por lo que varios autores coinciden en que esta es clave para mejorar la supervivencia y calidad de vida de los enfermos de cáncer.
Conclusiones: La rehabilitación cardÃaca es una estrategia que ha incidido en la disminución de los efectos derivados de las complicaciones del efecto cardiotóxico de los fármacos anticancerÃgenos.
