Abstract

The transradial access via cardiac catheterization, is an alternative to transfemoral access, but has gained prominence in many interventional centers, given its advantages and benefits for patients. Its acceptance has not been uniform and one of the causes that arise may be related to difficulties in learning the technique, some authors have described as too long and potentially dangerous. We propose a review about the scientific evidence showing the benefits of transradial access and track data on their learning curve. The adoption of the technique as radial path, improving patient clinical outcomes, quality of life, comfort and institutional economic costs; this adoption is feasible and safe in a corresponding learning curve time.
