Current views on three entities included within the so-called channelopathies are presented: Brugada syndrome, long QT syndrome, and idiopathic ventricular fibrillation, with the opinions of experts and those of members of the Arrhythmias and Programmed Pacing Service of the Institute of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, with more than 25 years of experience in these topics. These entities have undergone conceptual changes in several aspects: terminology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, study methods, prognosis, and treatment. Points of agreement, controversies, and knowledge gaps will be found; these are very current topics that are widely published and discussed. The circles of understanding have not yet closed.
